ABOUT
This site was originally a fan tribute to Enigma but, once the old LSD fanlisting at TFL.org expired, I applied and altered the website to a fanlisting. Everything that was on the fansite as it was is now located in the extras section.I originally started Turn Around as a fansite tribute to the LSD album because I honestly haven't seen much on the internet as a means of reflecting upon this terrific album in and of itself. While not a regular studio album and possessing only two "new" songs, it is an excellent intro into the music of Enigma, and should be revered as such. It's because I first heard (and then bought) this album that I explored Enigma's music catalog in depth and later became a fan. This album remains my favourite of the Enigma releases. Released in 2001, it contains the bulk of Enigma's singles, as well as some early songs that were on their previous albums that were never commercially released. The "hits" here in the States are really only the songs "Sadeness" and "Return To Innocence", however "Mea Culpa" was also popular in the UK. I distinctly remember hearing "Return To Innocence" on the radio in my early teens and being charmed by the soothing rhythm juxtaposed with eerie preternatural chanting (which, at the time I thought was a Native American shaman, but it's actually a tribesman from Taiwan). But there are surprises here, such as the version of "TNT For The Brain" not being the original version from E3: Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi! but a smoothly edited version of the Midnight Man Remix. This dancier version is one of my favourite tracks on the GH album. The album also closes beautifully with the soft and tender "The Cross Of Changes", which has little children singing and laughing. The LSD Remix Collection contains nine remixes of Enigma's greatest hits retrospective, and includes the full-length version of "TNT For The Brain (Midnight Man Mix)" to close the EP. My favourite track on this companion disc to the GH album has to be the darkly charged "Age Of Loneliness (Enigmatic Club Mix)". I hope you enjoy your look around this fanlisting/fansite and join the list, and be one with us as we listen to the Voice of Enigma. :) |
